Good morning all,

Just thought we would post a few photos with the current happenings at the pool as we move into the home stretch. Things are definitely changing quickly as the pool construction draws to a conclusion.

Anyhow, enjoy...

Our new sauna and steam room...

The front entrance to the pool...

View from just above the whirlpool...

View from the women's changeroom entrance onto the pool deck...

Enjoy!

Good morning,
I have neglected the mechanical room in the recent past mainly due to the fact that it has been difficult to get into the room without getting in the way of all the tradesmen that have been and are working in this area. I have included a couple of photos today to give you an idea of the complexity and scope of this area. The first photo shows the room from the top of the stairs and has the heat pumps and boiler on the left and the associated pipng and pumps.

The second photo shows the swirl pool boiler (bottom left) and the controls and pipng for the heat pumps.

The next photo is of Gary, who is creating the old fence and sign on the storage room wall located at the deep end of the lap pool.

The final photo shows the old style roof being built over the sauna & steam room.

Thank you for your continued interest. See you next week.

Good Afternoon everyone,
We have a series of photos today showing some of the finishing work that is now underway. We now have our diving boards installed ( we still have to get the 1 metre board from the Aquannis centre when they are finished with it).

In this photo you can see that the swirl pool tiling is now complete and the wave pool basin tiling is now nearing completion also. all efforts are going into getting ready for the North American Indigenous Games that we will hosting in the Lap pool on August 6-8.

On the outside of the facility we are hard at work on the landscaping. Here you can see one of mant trees being planted. this one is on the north side of the building near the entrance.

On the west side of the building you can see the retaining walls and more trees that are beng planted. At the far end the irrigation is being installed.

that's all for this week. Have a good one.

Good Morning,
We are getting down to the finishing touches and you can see by the following photos that the facility is starting look like it.
The first photo is of the upper activity room and you can see the new floor.

The next photo is of the wave pool and you can see that the lane lines are now in and most of the tiling has been completed.

This photo shows one of the drinking fountains in the facility. This fountain is located in the upper activity room.

The final photo today shows the tile detail on the lap pool around the pool edge.

Thank you for your continued interest. More to come..

paint & polish

Good morning everyone,
Welcome to the build the pool blog for the week of June 30/08. We are now getting to the stage where alot of finishing work is beginning and you can get a sense of how things will look when everything is complete. We have cabinetry coming in and being installed, ceilings are being installed, more doors installed, and paving and landscaping work in progress.
As you look around inside the facility you will notice that more of the mural is completed and more of the coastal rainforest look is being added with artificial rocks and wood look railings adding to the theme. Below you can see by the photo that the east wall at the centre, which houses the mechanical rooms, that more of the mural has been completed.

The next photo is also part of this mural and is located behind the diving boards at the Lap pool.

The third photo shows the reception area with the pro shop forming up on the left side.

The final photo shows the building frontage on James street with the facility name and the stylized wave at the top. There is also a stylized wave on the front of the building on the north side.

Thank you for your continued interest. We'll be back next week with another update on the Cowichan Aquatic Centre.
