Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that you have all been enjoying the break in weather as much as I have. Another week finishing, another week closer to opening!
Well let's get down to it.
The first photo and the third photo below are showing the ducting for the air handling being installed over the Lap pool. In the third photo you can see that the workers have lifted a section of ducting up to the ceiling support from the fitness room on the upper floor and are starting to slide it along. The first photo shows the ducting lining up with the duct that is already in place.
In the second photo (below) is a picture of our emergency generator set in place adjacent to the mechanical room. This generator will be used as a back up during power failures.
And in the photo below you can see the mezzanine floor of the mechanical room. The room on the left is the "Nuts & bolts" of the operation (my office - complete with window!), the room on the right is the chemical room. These rooms and the electrical room walls were blocked in during the past week or so.
That the update for this week. Next week we are planning to pour the decks at the shallow end and north side of the wave pool. Photos to follow!
Have a good one.

Thursday afternoon update
Good Afternoon everyone,
We're breaking new ground here on the construction front. A lot of firsts this week.
First drywall is going up in the upper floor in the activity rooms, offices, washrooms and staff area. Wow, does it ever look different when the drywall goes up and clearly defines the rooms.
First tiling is going on in the change rooms. The photo below shows the tile work in the female change room shower area. The family and male changeroom showers are also underway. The floor drains are mostly in and the tiling crew have been grinding everwhere in preparation for the tiling.
First walls going up in the maintenance area. The next photo below shows some of the block work on the sauna and steam rooms. In behind this wall are the electrical room, nuts & bolts office(photo next time!), and general filling in of the mezzanine floor of the maintenance area.
In this photo you can see the workers filling in the deck area on the north side of the wave pool. You can also see Scott contemplating where the next block is going (on top of the last one Scott!). Scott is just one of many of the construction crew that are making this project a reality. Good work guys.
Until the next time, have a good one.

Is it friday already!
I had to check the calendar to be sure, but it is friday!
We're moving right along with construction and you'll see some visible progress from previous pictures. There is a lot of ductwork going on throughout the facility. The electricians have also been working everywhere trying to get all of the wiring and conduits layed out. The framers have been working on the slide tower and entrance way framing in the walls and installing the fibre board. Glaziers have been installing more window frames and doors. And the other crews have been working on forms and plumbing for the pools. The tiling crew is on site now grinding all of the surfaces that will eventually have tile. The block work is close to finished in the stairwell and elevator shaft. There is also sprinkler system piping being installed over the competition pool.
So what I have selected to show you some of this progress is the photo above, which shows the main entrance foyer looking toward the not yet built reception area. Looking forward and to the left you can see the two doors that will lead to the activity rooms. Straight ahead is where the reception staff and programmers offices. Ahead and to the right is where you will go access the changerooms for the pools or upstairs to the fitness area.
This photo is the Swirl pool showing some of the plumbing.
Here is the slide tower framed in with cladding being erected. The long narrow gap in front is where the windows will go. The small gap to the left is where one of the slide will exit the tower. The stairs are framed in with the stair treads and landings yet to be added.
This photo shows two concrete pads being installed. These will support the electrical service and the generator for the facility. The gas supply was installed last week and is on the top left of the photo.
Enjoy your blog and have a good day.

Welcome back,
Another week closer to swim time! Well, it's still a little early to start packing my swim suit for the new pool, but I'm ready!
The first picture (above) is of the front entrance. You will notice the framework and backing is in place for the roofline and the windows for the indirect lighting into the foyer is now installed. It's looking more inviting each day.
the next photo will give you an idea of the duct work that is starting to be installed in the upper floor where the fitness room, activtiy rooms, and offices are. Work is also ocurring offsite where frames are being fabricated for the rooftop air handling units that will eventually connect things up.
We had our second largest concrete pour on monday, Feb 4. This included the deck between the wave pool and competition pool, the deck along the shallow end of the competition pool, and parts of the lazy river. The photo above shows the deck between the pools freshly poured, and the photo below shows the shallow end of the competition pool also freshly poured.
Thank you for your interest, stay tuned for further updates..
